Mrs. Wannipa Isarabhakdi Hosted Cooking Demonstration for IWCO
On 17 May 2017, Mrs. Wannipa Isarabhakdi, spouse of the Ambassador of Thailand to Canada, opened up the Thai Residence to members of the International Women's Club of Ottawa (IWCO) for a cooking demonstration of popular and traditional Thai dishes, namely Pad Thai, Som Tam (Thai Papaya Salad), Thai Grilled Chicken, and a Thai dessert called Tub Tim Grob (Water Chestnuts in Coconut Milk). Over 50 guests from among the diplomatic and Canadian community attended the event.
After the demonstration, guests had the opportunity to savour the flavourful dishes prepared by the chefs of the Thai Residence. They expressed their appreciation for the delicious food, beautiful fruit carvings and warm hospitality of the host. The guests also expressed their heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Wannipa and her staff. Many mentioned that they intended to try making the dishes at home. To help them in this endeavour, each guest was presented with a copy of “Secrets to Thai Cooking” produced by the Thailand Foundation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.
