Ambassador Vijavat attends the annual Diplomatic Week in Kingston, Jamaica
Ambassador Vijavat Isarabhakdi attended the annual Diplomatic Week which was held in Kingston, Jamaica during 5-10 February 2017 for all resident and non-resident ambassadors accredited to Jamaica.
On this occasion, the Ambassador had an opportunity to meet with His Excellency the Most Honourable Sir Patrick Linton Allen, Governor-General of Jamaica, the Most Honourable Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of Jamaica, Senator the Honourable Kamina Johnson Smith, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica as well as heads of diplomatic missions from many countries. Mrs. Thalia Lyn, Honorary Consul-General of Thailand in Jamaica, and Captain David McCrae, Honorary Vice-Consul helped to ensure that the week went smoothly.
Among the highlights of this memorable week were the Diplomatic Corps’ attendance at the Opening of Parliament and Speech from the Throne by H.E. the Most Honourable Governor-General, the Diplomatic Dinner hosted by the Governor-General and Lady Allen, and inspiring presentations on government policy by the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade; the Minister of Transport and Mining; the Minister of Finance and the Public Service; the Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries; and the Minister of Tourism.
