Ambassador attends the National Launch of the 15th Taste of Asia Festival
On 31 May 2017, His Excellency Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Ambassador of Thailand to Canada, attended the National Launch of the 15th Taste of Asia Festival at Parliament Hill, organized by the Federation of Chinese Canadians in Markham (FCCM) and the Association of Progressive Muslims of Canada (APMC).
Several dignitaries were in attendance at the event, such as MP Arnold Chan, MP Mary Ng, MP Karen McCrimmon, MP Mona Fortier, MP Rodger Cuzner, MP Mark Eyking, MP Salma Zahid, MP Geng Tan, Senator Victor Oh, and Mayor Frank Scarpitti of Markham, in addition to heads of missions from countries such as China, Nepal, and Turkey as well as the Honorary Consul General of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Toronto.
During the reception, Dr. Ken Ng, Chairman of the FCCM, presented Ambassador Vijavat with a certificate and token of appreciation for his ongoing support of the festival. The actual event will take place from 23 – 25 June 2017 in Markham and is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of visitors.
